You will notice that we use the word rubber throughout MyRubberLife rather than latex. There is a reason for that: to us, rubber represents much more than the material itself.

Latex is the material used to make many of the garments, suits and items associated with the scene. It can certainly be part of the fetish, but it is also widely seen as fashion and clothing. For many people, latex is simply something they wear.

Rubber is different. For us, rubber represents the wider fetish, culture and lifestyle that has grown around it. It is about the material, the look, the feel, the gear, the experiences and the community. Wearing a rubber suit or hood can be fashion, but for a rubber enthusiast it can mean something much deeper than simply putting on a garment.

That does not mean everyone who wears latex is part of the rubber fetish community, nor that one term is "right" and the other is "wrong". People have their own preferences and ways of describing what they enjoy. But on MyRubberLife, we deliberately choose rubber because it reflects the culture and lifestyle we are here to celebrate.
